About Kate

Kate is an HCPC Registered Dietitian and graduated in 2010 from the University of Chester with a First Class Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. She has worked since the September of that year in the NHS with adults and children with a range of dietetic and nutritional needs including: malnutrition; overweight/obesity, Type 1 and 2 Diabetes; enteral (tube) feeding; food allergy and intolerance; coeliac disease; IBS and eating disorders.

Experience has included:

  • seeing adult patients in hospitals, their homes, care homes and community hospitals
  • assessing and reviewing children in clinics, hospital and their homes
  • working with GP surgeries to review oral nutritional supplement prescribing
  • presenting to groups

More recently Kate has specialised in Diabetes and food allergies. Kate’s youngest child has a severe cow’s milk allergy and having to live with it has given her an excellent understanding of living with food allergies. She currently works both as a Freelance Dietitian working with private patients.

Kate is a member of the British Dietetic Association as well as the following BDA specialist groups: Diabetes, Food Allergy, Freelance Dietitians and Paediatrics. She is also a member of the British Society for Allergy & Clinical Immunology (BSACI).

Kate is also working on an MSc in Advance Dietetic Practice at the University of Nottingham and her research is around the introduction of solid food to infants.

Kate lives in Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne, is married and has 2 lively pre-school boys and a tortoise.
